Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Baghaei, stated that recent deputy foreign minister-level talks with Oman regarding the management of secure shipping in the Strait of Hormuz were "productive and achieved some progress."
The discussions, held in Tehran from the 24th to the 25th, focused on common principles and operational mechanisms for managing safe navigation in the strait. Baghaei confirmed that the Omani delegation departed Tehran on the 25th, but technical and political consultations between the two sides will continue.
Baghaei also noted that the current navigation situation in the Strait of Hormuz has not changed. However, a separate report from Iran's state television on the 26th indicated that the Strait of Hormuz is currently "closed."
