MKS Instruments' stock surged 7.76% in after-hours trading on Wednesday, following the release of its first-quarter 2026 financial results that significantly exceeded analyst expectations.

The semiconductor technology provider reported quarterly adjusted earnings of $2.30 per share, beating the consensus estimate of $2.04 by 12.75%. Revenue climbed to $1.078 billion, surpassing the $1.046 billion forecast and representing a 15.2% increase from the same period last year. Company executives attributed the strong performance to accelerating, broad-based demand fueled by ramping investment in AI-related applications.

Looking ahead, MKS provided optimistic guidance for the second quarter of 2026, forecasting revenue of $1.2 billion (plus or minus $40 million) and non-GAAP earnings per share of $2.90 (plus or minus $0.30). The company also announced an increase in its quarterly dividend to $0.25 per share, up from $0.22 previously, reflecting confidence in its financial position and future prospects.
