Century Sunshine Publishes 2025 ESG Report: Emission Control on Track, Resource Use Down, Facility Upgrade Looms

Century Sunshine Group Holdings Limited released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report covering the period from 1 January – 31 December 2025. The disclosure focuses on the Group’s mainland China ecological fertiliser operations, as the Hong Kong and overseas units remain non-operational and the magnesium segment reports separately. Key takeaways are as follows:

Environmental Performance 1. Emissions – The fertiliser segment stayed below national ceilings: NOx and SO₂ remained under 240 mg/m³ and 550 mg/m³ respectively, while particulate emissions were below 120 mg/m³. No environmental non-compliance was recorded. 2. Resource Use – Electricity consumption totalled 0.26 million kWh. All production wastewater was recycled internally, enabling zero discharge. Energy-saving measures included residual-heat recovery in the sulphuric-acid system and frequency-conversion motors. 3. Climate Strategy – A board-level framework now guides climate-related risk assessments. Scenario analysis referenced IPCC SSP1-1.9 and SSP5-8.5 pathways as well as NGFS Net Zero 2050 and Current Policies scenarios. Physical risks (extreme weather, chronic heat) were rated from low to medium; transition risks (policy shifts, higher carbon costs) were assessed as medium-to-low in the medium term.

Social Indicators • Workforce: 450 employees; 96 % based in mainland China. • Turnover: 30 % overall (22 % male, 8 % female); departures attributed to the shift toward a brand-licensing production model. • Training: 335 staff, or 74 % of headcount, received instruction totalling 6,200 hours, averaging 18.5 hours per employee. • Health & Safety: Zero work-related fatalities or injury-induced production stoppages for the third consecutive year; fire-safety and emergency-response drills conducted regularly. • Compliance: No material breaches of labour, health-and-safety, or product-responsibility regulations; anti-corruption controls in place with no related legal proceedings.

Governance Highlights The Board retains ultimate responsibility for ESG oversight and confirmed the report’s accuracy. Materiality, quantitative disclosure and consistency principles guided data preparation. Century Sunshine maintains stringent supply-chain vetting, intellectual-property safeguards and customer data-protection protocols.

Outlook Regulatory mandates in Xinjiang require Xinjiang Tengxiang Magnesium Products Co., Ltd. to complete ultra-low-emission upgrades by end-2025. Given the facility’s aged equipment and the Group’s current funding constraints, an extension to 2026 has been requested. Management is authorised to explore venture capital, equity financing and project partnerships to meet compliance deadlines and support ongoing magnesium production.

The Board intends to deepen product differentiation in green ecological fertilisers and pursue new market channels while aligning operations with China’s “carbon-peak by 2030, carbon-neutral by 2060” objectives.
