Goertek Inc. released its 2026 interim results on the evening of August 20, showcasing a return to top-line growth.

During the first half of the year, the company generated revenue of 40.046 billion yuan, up 6.65% year-over-year. Net profit attributable to shareholders reached 1.466 billion yuan, a 3.46% increase, while non-GAAP net profit climbed 7.96% to 1.116 billion yuan.

The company declared no cash dividend, no bonus shares, and no capital reserve conversion. The core revenue and net profit figures in the half-year report align with previously disclosed information.

This marks a renewed expansion in revenue for Goertek after a decline in the same period last year. In the first half of 2025, revenue stood at 37.549 billion yuan, down 7.02%, while net profit attributable to shareholders was 1.417 billion yuan, up 15.65%.

In the current period, revenue growth has turned positive again, but profit growth has lagged behind revenue growth, with the net margin attributable to shareholders easing from approximately 3.77% a year earlier to around 3.66%.

On a quarterly basis, the growth trajectory has been uneven. In the first quarter of this year, Goertek Inc. posted revenue of 18.659 billion yuan, a 14.44% jump, and net profit attributable to shareholders of 503 million yuan, up 7.28%.

Calculating from the half-year cumulative data, second-quarter revenue was approximately 21.387 billion yuan, with net profit attributable to shareholders of about 963 million yuan, reflecting year-over-year increases of roughly 0.7% and 1.6%, respectively. The first quarter drove most of the first-half growth, while the second quarter saw a marked slowdown in momentum.

The business structure of Goertek Inc. remains anchored in three main segments: intelligent hardware, intelligent acoustic components, and precision components. In the first half of 2025, intelligent hardware generated 20.341 billion yuan, representing 54.17% of total revenue. Precision components brought in 7.604 billion yuan, a 20.54% increase year-over-year, while intelligent acoustic components contributed 8.324 billion yuan, down 34.92%.

For the full year of 2025, intelligent hardware remained the largest revenue source at 53.769 billion yuan. Precision components delivered 17.978 billion yuan with a gross margin of 23.52%, significantly outperforming the two finished-product segments.

Therefore, when assessing Goertek's operational shifts this year, beyond device shipments, the contributions from precision components and new intelligent hardware deserve closer attention. In May, the company indicated that its AI smart glasses business has partnered with multiple leading industry clients, and its affiliate Goertek Optics has already established mainstream diffractive waveguide solutions and mass-production capabilities.

In June, Goertek Inc. further announced that it and Ningbo Sunny Aolai would each inject 500 million yuan into Goertek Optics, raising Goertek's stake to 39.6676% upon completion.

The key R&D projects outlined in Goertek's 2025 annual report already span AI smart glasses, AR optical components and modules, micro-system modules, MEMS acoustic sensors, and MR precision optical devices.

However, the company has yet to disclose specific revenue, order volumes, or profit contributions from its AI glasses business. Whether this segment can meaningfully elevate overall profitability remains contingent on subsequent mass production and customer product cycles.

Overall, Goertek Inc. achieved year-over-year growth in revenue, net profit attributable to shareholders, and non-GAAP net profit in the first half, recovering from the revenue dip seen in the prior-year period. Yet the slowing second-quarter growth and profit growth trailing revenue growth underscore lingering structural disparities in the current operational improvement.

Second-half performance will hinge on the new product cycle in consumer electronics and whether AI glasses, XR, and precision components can generate more sustained incremental contributions.
