Sterling Construction's stock surged 21.80% in pre-market trading on Tuesday, following the release of its first-quarter financial results that significantly exceeded analyst expectations.

The infrastructure company reported adjusted earnings per share of $3.59 for Q1, far surpassing the consensus estimate of $2.01, representing a 78.61% upside surprise. Revenue for the quarter reached $825.7 million, also well above the expected $603.6 million.

Management raised its full-year 2026 guidance, projecting revenue between $3.70 billion and $3.80 billion, up from previous expectations of $3.05 billion to $3.20 billion. The strong performance was attributed to the recent CEC acquisition and organic revenue growth exceeding 55% in the quarter, primarily driven by its E-Infrastructure Solutions segment.
