July saw a sharp monthly decline in domestic solar module procurement, with tender volumes dropping to 2.7GW, according to industry data.
The lack of major centralized procurement or framework agreement projects this month was a key factor behind the significant contraction in tendering activity.
Of the total tendered volume, N-type modules accounted for 1.06GW, with TOPCon-specific tenders reaching 0.26GW, representing 24.43% of the N-type segment.
Turning to finalized awards, the market saw 20.42GW of module contracts either awarded or with announced winning candidates in July. This figure includes 18.07GW of confirmed awards and 2.35GW attributed to the top-ranked bidders.
China Datang's 11GW framework procurement for PV modules was the standout contributor, supplying 60.86% of the month's finalized award volume.
Among manufacturers, TCL Zhonghuan, JA Solar, and Trina Solar each secured over 1GW in finalized awards, leading the market for the month.
TCL Zhonghuan emerged at the forefront with 1.97GW in finalized awards, securing contracts across multiple packages, including CGN New Energy's 2026 framework procurement and projects for Guodian Power and Guangdong Energy Group. JA Solar followed with 1.79GW, while Trina Solar recorded 1.35GW.
N-type module bid prices experienced a slight pullback in July, with the range spanning RMB 0.654 to RMB 0.812 per watt and averaging RMB 0.743 per watt, down from RMB 0.764 per watt in the prior month.
The lowest bid was submitted by Hengdian Group DMEGC Magnetics for the second batch of Guangdong Energy Group's 2026 PV module procurement, while the highest came from Aiko Solar in Package 3 of China Datang's 2026-2027 framework procurement.
Breaking down by technology route, TOPCon module bids ranged from RMB 0.695 to RMB 0.800 per watt, with an average of RMB 0.741 per watt. The lowest TOPCon bid came from Tongwei for a PV module supply project in Ya'an Hanyuan Qingxi, while Jinko Solar submitted the highest bid in Package 1 of China Datang's 11GW framework tender.
HJT module bids spanned RMB 0.741 to RMB 0.772 per watt, averaging RMB 0.761 per watt. Both the lowest and highest HJT bids were recorded in Package 2 of China Datang's 11GW framework procurement, submitted by Risen Energy and Canadian Solar, respectively.
BC module bids ranged from RMB 0.770 to RMB 0.812 per watt, with an average of RMB 0.791 per watt. The lowest BC price came from the Sanmen Hengdu 53.26MWp mountain PV project, with bids from both Aiko Solar and Huayao Photoelectric.
