During the seven-day National Day holiday, Jieyang Chaoshan Airport implemented multiple measures to ensure passengers traveled safely and smoothly, handling a total of 246,000 passengers and 1,807 flight takeoffs and landings.
The holiday period kicked off with lively Yingge dance performances, followed by stirring drum performances, and concluded with orderly arrangements during the return travel peak.
This National Day, cultural tourism in the eastern Guangdong region continued to heat up. The four cities of Shantou, Chaozhou, Jieyang, and Shanwei jointly launched a "Double Festival Cultural Tourism Gift Package," integrating travel guides, consumer benefits, and service guarantees to extend an invitation to visitors from near and far.
This invitation translated into tangible cultural experiences, with Yingge dance, Chao opera, lion dance, and other cultural performances taking turns on stage, collectively polishing the holiday image of the greater Chaoshan region. The surging popularity drove regional travel demand ever higher.
As the aerial gateway to eastern Guangdong, Jieyang Chaoshan Airport fully embraced this travel surge, with passenger volume remaining at consistently high levels, building a convenient aerial bridge for this cultural celebration.
To meet holiday travel demand, Jieyang Chaoshan Airport coordinated with nine airlines to add flights, introducing and increasing frequencies on 18 routes in total. The airport focused on adding capacity to major trunk destinations such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu, while also adding or increasing flights to popular tourism destinations including Lhasa, Luzhou, and Guiyang.
Wide-body aircraft became a highlight of the airport's holiday capacity support. On September 30, a China Southern Airlines A330-300 aircraft landed smoothly at the airport, completing its debut in the eastern Guangdong region. On the evening of October 1, the airport's staff Yingge dance team prepared a special welcome and send-off performance for passengers on that flight, with thunderous drumbeats and powerful rhythms allowing travelers to feel the festive excitement from the very first stop of their journey.
Compared with standard aircraft, the A330-300 offers a more spacious cabin and more comfortable seat layout. Many passengers remarked that the three-hour Beijing-Jieyang journey became more comfortable thanks to the addition of the wide-body aircraft.
Throughout the National Day holiday, heartwarming stories played out continuously in the terminal. In the security check waiting area, a passenger who arrived in a rush due to traffic congestion just before the boarding deadline was immediately guided by security officer Cai Yutao to use the fast lane, and was accompanied all the way to the boarding gate.
Behind the security checkpoint, a child suddenly fell unwell. Security officer Chen Yiqi quickly stepped forward to help the child to the side to rest and notified medical personnel to attend to the situation. During the wait, Chen Yiqi stayed by the child's side to comfort them until confirming the child was fine.
Service desk supervisor Lin Gengming, during his patrol, found an elderly person traveling alone who had mistakenly entered the arrival area. After verifying the flight information, he accompanied the elderly person all the way to the boarding gate and handed over to the gate staff. As they parted, the elderly person held his hand tightly and expressed repeated thanks.
Staff at Jieyang Chaoshan Airport used timely assistance again and again to deliver warm service exactly where passengers needed it most. Travelers from all directions journeyed to Chaoshan, taking away its warmth and memories. All airport staff remained at their posts, ensuring a smooth and reassuring journey for all. Going forward, the airport will continue to optimize its route network, prepare for the winter-spring flight season transition, and continuously improve service quality and support capabilities, making every takeoff and arrival more relaxed and more heartfelt.
