China Resources Beer's President Addresses White Liquor Industry Downturn and Long-Term Growth Strategy

On August 19, China Resources Beer unveiled its interim results for the first half of 2026, reporting a consolidated turnover of RMB 24.24 billion, marking a 1.2% year-on-year increase. The white liquor segment, however, posted revenue of RMB 570 million for the period, reflecting a significant 27.2% decline compared to the previous year.

During the results briefing held the same day, Jin Hanquan, President of China Resources Beer (Holdings) Company Limited, elaborated on the downturn in the white liquor business, stating, "Over the past six months, we have been implementing some strategic adjustments. Currently, actual sell-through has improved, but these gains have yet to be reflected in our financial statements."

Offering a broader industry perspective, he noted, "Looking at the sector as a whole, the white liquor industry remains in a period of sustained adjustment, and the pressure on the industry is immense. Moutai just released its results, which showed a decline in first-half profits, and other distilleries are also striving to transform. The white liquor business requires long-term cultivation. We must adhere to a long-term approach, and the real test for us will be our long-term operational capabilities."

Regarding future strategy for the white liquor division, Jin outlined, "Moving forward, we will focus on core markets where we hold a competitive edge. We have already planned for 32 markets, and we will allocate key resources to areas where we are leading. In terms of product offerings, we will concentrate our promotional efforts on the Zhuoyao and Jinsha brands, ensuring that both mid-to-high-end and lower-tier products advance in tandem."

Jin further emphasized, "We need to enhance flexibility in our operations, swiftly introducing consumer products that cater to new scenarios and emerging demographics. By leveraging the resources of the China Resources system and our extensive network of key accounts, we aim to build a unique channel advantage."
