Stock Track | Viasat Plunges 9.52% in After-Hours Session as Q1 Revenue Misses Estimates

Viasat (VSAT) shares tumbled 9.52% in after-hours trading on Tuesday, following the release of the company's fiscal first-quarter 2027 financial results.

The sharp decline was triggered by a top-line shortfall, with the company reporting quarterly revenue of $1.157 billion. This figure missed the analyst consensus estimate of $1.200 billion and represented a 1.20% decrease compared to sales of $1.171 billion in the same period last year.

The revenue miss triggered a wave of profit-taking after the stock had rallied in the preceding sessions. Optimism had been building around the valuation of Viasat's wireless spectrum assets, a narrative that had driven the share price significantly higher ahead of the earnings report.
