At the 2026 interim results conference held on August 21, Ping An Insurance (Group) Company Of China, Ltd. Co-CEO Guo Xiaotao stated that low interest rates represent a sustained economic condition now and for the foreseeable future. In this environment, interest spreads serve as a critical observation metric for the financial industry, and with spreads expected to continue narrowing, the entire sector has entered a phase of stock-based development.

Contrary to the broader financial industry trend, Guo noted that the life insurance sector is entering a golden period of growth. The core reason lies in the fact that life insurance products are the only financial instruments capable of offering long-term, stable, and guaranteed base returns in a low-rate environment.

"We hold a long-term optimistic view on the life insurance industry and believe the sector will continue to improve," Guo said. He outlined that Ping An's life insurance business strategy will adhere to four key directions: balanced distribution channels, balanced product offerings, differentiated services, and AI-driven empowerment.
