UiPath's stock surged 5.08% in pre-market trading on Tuesday, following the company's announcement of launching its Automation Cloud on Microsoft Azure in South Korea.
The expansion establishes a locally managed cloud footprint to meet domestic data residency requirements. The new Korea region is expected to significantly reduce deployment timelines to weeks from months, enabling faster rollout of AI-agent automation solutions for regulated sectors such as finance and the public sector.
The service provides in-country data storage on Azure while offering customers model choice across major AI providers including OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, and Google Gemini. UiPath cited an IDC InfoBrief showing strong market potential, with 24% of South Korean organizations having already implemented agentic AI and 67% planning adoption within the next 12 months.
