The Ministry of Commerce, together with six other government departments, has issued a notice on implementing the "Five Excellences" initiative for quality e-commerce. The notice calls for advancing the optimization and transformation of platform rules.

E-commerce platforms are urged to formulate and revise their platform rules in accordance with laws and regulations, and to fully implement requirements such as public disclosure of platform rules and soliciting public opinions. Platforms are also instructed to standardize their rule enforcement practices in order to protect the lawful rights and interests of merchants and consumers operating within their ecosystems.

Furthermore, the notice encourages e-commerce platforms to continuously improve mechanisms for product display, recommendation, and marketing activities, strengthening quality-oriented factors such as product quality, service reputation, and credit information, so that quality goods and services can more effectively reach consumers.
