Inner Mongolia Airport Group Sees 4.7% Year-on-Year Rise in Passenger Throughput During National Day Holiday

During the National Day holiday, Inner Mongolia's cultural tourism market was highly active, and demand for air travel continued to be released, according to Inner Mongolia Airport Group.

The group handled a total of 614,000 passenger trips, up 4.7% year on year. Average daily passenger throughput reached about 88,000 trips, up 4.8% year on year. A total of 5,284 aircraft takeoffs and landings were guaranteed, up 0.7% year on year. Overall flight operations were safe and stable.

Hohhot Baita International Airport. Holiday passenger flows showed a pattern of concentrated outbound travel before the holiday and concentrated return travel afterward. October 1 saw the outbound travel peak, while October 6 to 7 formed the return peak. During these periods, single-day passenger throughput exceeded 90,000 trips, and the overall passenger flow trend was clear and showed regular fluctuations.

As a regional aviation hub, Hohhot Airport played a major supporting role, guaranteeing 2,338 aircraft takeoffs and landings and handling 302,000 passenger trips, up 0.7% and 4.9% year on year respectively.

Regional airports performed strongly, with a cumulative 2,946 aircraft takeoffs and landings guaranteed and 312,000 passenger trips handled, up 0.6% and 4.4% year on year respectively, accounting for 50.8% of the group's total.

During the holiday, the interconnection effect among regional routes within the region became more prominent. Routes connecting regional airports completed 92,000 passenger trips, accounting for 15% of the group's total, effectively activating holiday cultural tourism consumption within the region and making travel more convenient for the public.

Hohhot Airport passenger flow. In terms of passenger destinations, major intra-regional travel directions were concentrated in cities such as Hulunbuir, Chifeng, Xilinhot, Tongliao and Ulanhot. Major out-of-region travel directions were key hub cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Zhengzhou, Shijiazhuang and Xi'an.
