Holiday Oversight Never Takes a Break! District Market Supervision Bureau Continues Special Inspections on Intellectual Property and Brand Compliance

Deep News
Oct 07

To consolidate the results of earlier special inspections on intellectual property in key commercial districts and guard against various consumer risks during the holiday period, the District Market Supervision Bureau has continued to carry out special inspection operations focused on intellectual property and brand compliance. This round of inspections extends regulatory reach to commercial areas such as the Nightless City and Suhe Bay, using uninterrupted patrols to protect holiday market order and make every effort to ensure that residents and visitors can consume with confidence.

Expanding the Scope of Regulatory Inspections and Conducting Targeted Checks on Diverse Risks

The inspection operation focused on commercial venues including CapitaMall Star Trade, Financial Street Shopping Center, Jing'an Joy City, and Suhe Bay MixC. On the basis of verifying core intellectual property elements such as brand authorization, trademark use, and purchase inspection ledgers, it also simultaneously addressed holiday-prone risk points such as non-compliant price labels and false advertising. During the inspections, law enforcement personnel conducted rigorous and detailed checks, comprehensively verifying business entity qualifications, brand authorization documents, price labels, purchase ledgers, and other content, achieving a "one visit, multiple checkups" approach and effectively resolving consumer risks at the front end.

Strengthening Mall Management Responsibility and Promoting Internal Compliance Momentum in Commercial Districts

This round of inspections placed greater emphasis on the "first gatekeeper" role of mall management. Based on problems identified in earlier inspections, law enforcement personnel provided on-site guidance to mall management, urging malls to fulfill their management responsibilities, improve management systems such as tenant qualification review and on-site dynamic inspections, and prevent issues such as missing authorization and counterfeit infringement from the admission stage. At the same time, law enforcement personnel carried out targeted legal education for mall operations managers and merchant operators on trademark use standards, promotional advertising publication, and price labeling requirements. By explaining legal risks through real cases, they helped business entities identify risk points and encouraged malls to lead their tenants in self-examination and self-correction, transforming "passively accepting inspections" into "actively preventing and controlling risks," thereby laying a solid foundation for honest and compliant operations.

Next, the District Market Supervision Bureau will continue and extend holiday market supervision work, consolidate the results of this special operation, and further deepen governance in the field of intellectual property. It will closely monitor market operations in key commercial districts, ensure early detection and early handling of all emerging and tendency-related risks, and continuously maintain market order and the consumer environment within its jurisdiction.
