Aurora Innovation has entered into a new agreement with Charger Logistics, under which the latter will deploy Aurora's second-generation autonomous trucks on its busy U.S. freight routes to enhance capacity and asset utilization.

Under the deal, Charger Logistics will integrate the Aurora Driver autonomous system, initially launching driverless transport services on the Dallas-to-Laredo corridor, one of the busiest freight routes in the U.S. "Sun Belt." Both companies indicate that this route is merely a starting point, with plans to expand operations to additional routes across Charger's North American network.

Charger Logistics is a U.S.-based asset-type transport and logistics company operating across the United States and Mexico, offering full truckload, temperature-controlled transport, warehousing, and cross-border logistics services. Its clients span multiple industries, including refrigerated food, pharmaceuticals, automotive, retail, and consumer goods.

The president of Charger Logistics stated that deploying the Aurora Driver on busy U.S. freight corridors is expected to boost capacity, improve asset utilization, and enhance service reliability for customers transporting critical goods such as temperature-controlled cargo and pharmaceuticals.

Aurora recently officially launched its second-generation autonomous trucks and plans to deploy them in a commercial network covering 10 autonomous routes across the U.S. "Sun Belt." This new fleet, built on the International LT Series platform, is equipped with next-generation hardware designed for a lifespan of 1 million miles, laying the groundwork for scaled operations. As of the end of June, the Aurora Driver had accumulated nearly 440,000 miles of autonomous driving. This partnership with Charger Logistics further expands its autonomous freight ecosystem.
