Tianjin Pharmaceutical Da Ren Tang Group Corporation Limited announced on Aug, 7 2026 that its Xinxin Pharmaceutical Plant has obtained a Drug Registration Certificate from the National Medical Products Administration for Saxagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride Sustained-release Tablets (I).

The newly approved product, classified as a Class 4 chemical drug, contains 5 mg of saxagliptin and 1,000 mg of metformin hydrochloride per tablet. It is indicated, together with diet and exercise, to improve glycaemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are suitable for combination therapy with these two agents.

The manufacturing licence (approval number H20265242) is valid until Jul, 20 2031. Production will be undertaken by Jiangsu Yongan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., with Tianjin Pharmaceutical Da Ren Tang’s Xinxin Pharmaceutical Plant acting as the marketing authorisation holder. The company said the approval is not expected to materially affect its short-term financial performance.

According to industry data cited in the filing, domestic sales of the same formulation grew about 33% year on year in 2025, underscoring its commercial potential.

Tianjin Pharmaceutical Da Ren Tang cautioned that actual production and sales volumes will depend on factors such as national policies and market conditions, and advised shareholders and investors to exercise caution when trading its shares.
