At its 2026 AI eyewear launch event, RayNeo officially introduced the new iO product line, debuting with the iO smart glasses, which the company describes as "human-augmented AI eyewear." The device carries a standard retail price of 2,499 yuan, with an introductory launch price starting at 1,996 yuan, and supports prescription lenses from 0 to 1000 degrees. It is available for purchase starting today across JD.com, Tmall, Douyin, and various offline eyewear retail channels.
According to data from Counterpoint and IDC, RayNeo ranked first in AR glasses shipments in both China and globally during Q1 2026, and also secured top-selling single-product positions during China's 618 shopping festival and North America's Prime Day. The name "iO" draws from the computing concept of I/O (Input & Output), reflecting RayNeo's interpretation of human-machine interaction in the AI era: users naturally gather information and express intent through the glasses, while the AI processes requests and projects feedback directly into their field of view.
Design and Display: Inching Closer to Everyday Eyewear
The iO features a completely redesigned display system. Its blue-lake optical waveguide employs a three-layer optical structure with multi-layered micro-nano patterns, achieving 93% transmittance in the optical combiner area and over 98% transmittance in non-display zones, with a color difference index controlled at Delta E 2.52.
RayNeo claims the iO is currently the only AI glasses product in the industry that meets the EU EN ISO 12312-1 standard for everyday lens safety. The accompanying "Firefly Light Nano" optical engine further reduces volume and circuit footprint, with the company stating the component is smaller than a red bean.
In terms of display specs, the iO offers an equivalent 33-inch screen using a binocular display architecture with adjustable focal distance, delivering 1,800 nits of luminance at the eye. The company says text remains clearly legible even under strong outdoor sunlight. The display supports full DC dimming and has passed TÜV SÜD certification for flicker-free and low blue light emission.
Aesthetically, the iO adopts a crown-style frame design with a lightweight magnesium-aluminum alloy front bezel and dual-layer titanium alloy temples. The front frame edges have been compressed to an average width of 2.25mm, with temple thickness reaching a minimum of 1.15mm, and the total weight comes in at just 34 grams.
Interaction: Information Dashboard and Smart Dial
The iO includes an integrated information dashboard that displays weather, schedules, to-do lists, world clocks, and stock subscriptions directly in the user's view, with smartphone notifications also mirrored onto the lenses.
For control, the device features a Smart Crown dial that supports rotation and press operations, enabling one-handed confirmations. Additionally, head gestures are supported, allowing users to nod to confirm or shake their head to cancel.
Looking ahead, RayNeo plans to collaborate with partners including Alipay, JD.com, Amap, and Tongcheng to introduce features such as parking payments, package tracking, and flight information updates.
AI Capabilities: Multi-Model Support with All-Day Memory
The iO delivers up to two days of battery life. On the software side, the device is built on open-source large language models, with initial support for DeepSeek V4 Pro and Qwen 3.7 Max. Future updates will bring Kimi K3 and RayNeo's proprietary RayNeo AI model.
The glasses are equipped with RayNeo's all-day memory engine, which processes audio and location data to convert memories into contextual, semantic, and behavioral information types, recording and managing the full 24-hour context of continuous wear.
A feature called "All-Day Smart Memory" automatically generates daily summaries that capture important conversations, action items, and personal status. As information accumulates, the AI can reference historical data to understand the user's topics of interest and communication habits, allowing users to revisit key meeting points or verbally agreed-upon times from the past. The iO also includes a real-time prompting mode that identifies relevant issues in ongoing conversations without explicit user commands and displays suggested answers directly on the lens.
For audio, the iO is fitted with four array microphones and one bone-conduction microphone, using beamforming algorithms to distinguish between speakers in multi-person settings for meeting recording and summarization purposes.
On the translation front, the product integrates Timekettle's BabelOS 3.0 intelligent translation engine, covering 55 languages and 109 accents. According to the company, the engine uses AI models to understand full semantics before generating translations, and employs semantic segmentation, polish-and-correct, and multi-engine scheduling to reduce literal translation issues. The iO also offers an AI teleprompter mode that scrolls in sync with the user's speaking pace and highlights content in real time.
Privacy: No Camera, Full Data Export and Deletion
Privacy protection is a key highlight of this release. The iO does not include a camera. A privacy status light on the temple is hardware-locked to recording and translation modules, ensuring the indicator illuminates whenever those functions are active, with the company stating it cannot be disabled or bypassed through software.
For data processing, raw conversations captured by the all-day memory feature are first anonymized and desensitized irreversibly on-device. Only structured, desensitized information is uploaded, and the company says original content never leaves the device in identifiable form, with all data encrypted using financial-grade standards.
Users retain full control: historical data can be exported, migrated, or permanently deleted with no possibility of recovery. The glasses are tied one-to-one to a user account, meaning a lost device cannot be rebound or accessed by others. RayNeo states its information security management system has earned ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications, complies with GDPR, CE, EN 18031, and CRA requirements, and has engaged white-hat security teams for offensive-defensive testing.
