Stock Track | JD Health Plummets 5.03% Intraday as GLP-1 Weight Loss Drug Regulations Pressure Online Pharmacy Business

Stock Track
May 26

JD Health's stock plummeted 5.03% intraday on Tuesday, extending a multi-day selloff as newly implemented regulations on GLP-1 weight loss drug online sales continue to weigh heavily on the company's digital pharmacy business.

Since mid-May, new rules require patients to present a hospital-issued paper prescription to purchase GLP-1 weight loss drugs, effectively invalidating prescriptions issued by internet hospitals. Multiple pharmacies have already delisted related products from platforms including JD Health, directly suppressing online pharmaceutical sales. Additionally, the revised Drug Administration Law Implementation Regulations took effect concurrently, intensifying market concerns over tightening oversight of online prescription drug sales.

Despite ongoing share buybacks and major shareholder stake increases, selling pressure persists amid broader weakness in the internet and direct marketing retail sector, reflecting investor anxiety over regulatory headwinds for online healthcare platforms.
