Zhang Xue, founder of the self-established brand Zhang Xue Motorcycles, has gained significant attention following the brand's victory at the 2026 World Superbike Championship (WSBK) in Portugal. His journey from an apprentice mechanic to a world champion motorcycle manufacturer has resonated widely. Zhang has always been known for his generosity toward his team and is committed to improving salary standards within the industry. In a recent interview, he stated that over the next five years, he aims for Zhang Xue Motorcycles to capture more than 50% of the market share currently held by major international brands. Under his influence, salaries for motorcycle engineers in Chongqing have already multiplied. Currently, Zhang Xue Motorcycles implements a biannual salary adjustment system: a general adjustment in June and July covering 90% of employees, while phasing out the lowest-performing 10%. At the end of the year, a significant raise is granted to the top 20%–30% of exceptional employees, with outstanding performers seeing salary increases of up to 100%. This approach is designed to retain talent and motivate the team through tangible benefits.
