SoFi Technologies Inc. (SOFI) experienced a significant price increase of 5.71% during the night session.
The stock's upward movement is attributed to two major positive developments announced by the company. Firstly, SoFi officially launched its stablecoin, SoFiUSD, making it directly available to its approximately 15 million application users. This move marks the company's formal entry into the stablecoin market, expanding its suite of digital asset offerings.
Secondly, the company announced the acquisition of Peach, a cloud-native loan management platform with over $2 billion in active loans across more than 50 institutions. This platform will be integrated into SoFi's existing Galileo and Technisys ecosystem, strengthening its business-to-business infrastructure capabilities. This acquisition represents SoFi's third major strategic purchase this year, highlighting its ongoing expansion strategy in the fintech sector.
