The outgoing Vice President of the European Central Bank, Luis de Guindos, stated on Wednesday that new artificial intelligence models are now capable of exploiting software vulnerabilities, and Eurozone banks must increase their investment in cybersecurity to address such risks.

De Guindos told reporters, "We need a deeper understanding of the potential impacts of these new models and must deploy appropriate systems and cybersecurity patches to mitigate the risks."

"Additionally, we must gradually raise risk awareness among various financial institutions and banks, making them recognize the necessity of additional cybersecurity investments. In the short term, this will become a regular requirement."
