Tong Ren Tang Technologies’ 2025 ESG Report Highlights Lower Energy Use, Strong Safety Record and Expanded Community Outreach

Tong Ren Tang Technologies (01666) released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, detailing progress in energy efficiency, carbon management, employee development and community engagement.

Double-Digit Cuts in Energy and Water Intensity • Total comprehensive energy consumption fell to 2.63 million t of standard coal, down 18.1% from 2024; energy-use intensity improved to 0.05 t standard coal per RMB10,000 of operating income (2024: 0.06). • Electricity use declined 5.2% to 716.0 million kWh, while natural-gas consumption dropped 19.4% to 116.4 million m³. • Water-use intensity remained stable at 2 m³ per RMB10,000 of operating income despite a 30.7% fall in absolute consumption to 7.9 million m³.

Lower Emissions, Zero Major Violations • Group greenhouse-gas emissions decreased 22.2% to 0.7 million tCO₂-e. Emission intensity improved to 0.14 tCO₂-e per RMB10,000 of revenue (2024: 0.15). • Hazardous-waste intensity edged down to 0.19 kg per RMB10,000 of revenue, with 97 t generated (-5.1% YoY). • No major environmental non-compliance cases were recorded.

Carbon-Peak Roadmap and Renewable Push • A “Carbon Peaking Action Plan” targets improved electrification, equipment upgrades and expanded renewable energy use. • Distributed photovoltaic projects at the Daxing and Yizhuang factories and the Tangshan nutrition plant came on-stream, while an energy-and-carbon management platform was upgraded to include real-time carbon-tracking functions.

Occupational Health and Safety • Zero work-related fatalities for the third consecutive year. • 626 lost workdays were recorded, with all incidents classified as non-major. • RMB30 million was invested in safety upgrades, including fire-protection systems and VOCs治理設備. • 44 emergency drills and 100-plus safety-training sessions covered over 20,000 participants; occupational-injury insurance coverage reached 100%.

Talent Development and Diversity • The Group employed 3,951 staff (48.0% male, 52.0% female); staff turnover fell to 5.04%. • Average training hours hit 28.17 per employee; every employee received training in 2025. • Ten Master Technician Workshops and multi-tier skill competitions supported nearly 300 high-skilled employees and generated 40+ patents to date.

Responsible Supply Chain and Quality Assurance • Qualified supplier base rose to 261 firms, with stringent audits on ESG, quality and anti-corruption. • 100% of product complaints were resolved; no product recalls or safety-related legal cases were reported. • The Group maintained ISO 50001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications across key facilities.

Community Engagement • Delivered 550+ free medical consultations, 100+ community health lectures and 50+ livestreamed health-education sessions. • Implemented 22 TCM cultural club activities and 122 campus elective courses, reaching more than 20,000 students and teachers. • Supported rural revitalisation via consumption and public-welfare assistance, including Hope Reading Room projects in Xinjiang and autism-care initiatives in Hebei.

Awards and Recognitions • Named National “Outstanding Quality Management” award recipient; honoured as Tangshan municipal “Green Factory”; received Guru Club’s Annual ESG Pioneer Award.

Tong Ren Tang Technologies states that it will continue to integrate green manufacturing, digital energy management and traditional Chinese-medicine heritage as it progresses toward its 2030 carbon-peaking objective and long-term sustainability targets.
