Shares of US solar technology firms and related companies advanced in premarket trading Tuesday, buoyed by a report that the Federal Communications Commission is drafting a ban on imports of foreign-made inverters.

Among the notable gainers were: Enphase Energy, up 12%; SolarEdge Technologies, up 11%; Sunrun, up 3.5%; Fluence Energy, up 6.3%; First Solar, up 3.3%; Array Technologies, up 5.2%; and NextPower, up 4.8%.
