Baker Technology Limited announced on Jun, 18 2026 that it will invest about 7 million Singapore dollars to expand and enhance its shipyard at 6 Pioneer Sector 1, Singapore, and shift all operations there after returning its Jalan Samulun premises to Jurong Town Council.

The 31,094-square-metre waterfront property currently houses workshops, stores, fabrication areas and offices. The project will add a new office annex, increasing office floor space by roughly 70 %, allowing the company’s workforce to operate from a single location.

Completion is targeted between the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028, with the cost funded from internal resources. To ensure a smooth transition, Baker Technology is discussing a short lease extension for its 10 Jalan Samulun property, whose current lease expires at the end of 2026.

Management expects the consolidation to reduce long-term lease expenses and improve operational efficiency. Any temporary reduction in on-site production space can be mitigated through the use of external offshore marine centres, the company said.
