On the evening of August 3, the Yuanzhou District 2026 Rural Basketball Tournament, themed "Meeting at the Rural Basketball Tournament, Enjoying Yuanzhou's Flavor, Weaving Pomegranate Red Together," wrapped up at the Guyuan Gymnasium. The event began on July 25, spanning 10 days with a total of 106 games played, and crowned champions, runners-up, and third-place finishers across four categories, bringing this local grassroots basketball competition to a successful close.

The tournament featured four competition groups: township men's, township women's, women's 40-plus, and enterprise and institution categories. It encompassed 11 townships in Yuanzhou District and multiple enterprises and institutions, with 45 teams participating. This high level of public involvement fostered a strong atmosphere of grassroots fitness.

Multiple finals unfolded on the closing night. In the women's 40-plus group, players averaging over 40 years old displayed tight offensive and defensive transitions. The Guanting Town team defeated Sanying Town 20:16 to claim the championship in that category. The night's highlight was the men's final, which saw intense competition: Sanying Town and Zhonghe Township were tied at 65:65 after regular time, but after overtime, Sanying Town narrowly won 77:72. In other groups, Sanying Town also took the women's title, while the Guyuan Xianghe Food Co., Ltd. team secured first place in the enterprise and institution division.

Beyond the fierce basketball action, an exhibition of local agricultural products emerged as a distinctive highlight. Farmers showcased indigenous specialties such as broccoli, flower mushrooms, and netted melons, vividly demonstrating the harvest achievements of rural revitalization. The award ceremony replaced conventional trophies and medals with local goods, including lambs, yellow beef, coarse grains, and Chinese medicinal herbs as winning prizes, infusing the event with a strong sense of rustic, earthy flavor.
