Treasury Wine Estates Ltd shares surged 6.00% during intraday trading on Thursday, after the Penfolds owner reported full-year results that topped analyst expectations and provided an upbeat earnings outlook for fiscal 2027.

The company posted FY revenue of AUD 2,626 million, comfortably exceeding the IBES estimate of AUD 2,543 million. Adjusted net income came in at AUD 275.3 million, also beating the consensus forecast of AUD 255.2 million. Despite sliding to a statutory net loss driven by previously flagged non-cash impairments against its U.S. assets, investors focused on the underlying operational performance and forward guidance.

Looking ahead, Treasury Wine expects F27 EBITS to be at least equivalent to F26, with continued depletions growth anticipated on key brands. The company also projected that leverage would return to below 2.0x by F28, signaling improving balance sheet health. The positive outlook helped offset concerns around the earlier announced strategic review of its North American portfolio.
