OpenAI has introduced a new feature called Intelligent UI for GPT-6, allowing ChatGPT to answer user questions in interactive and visual formats, according to a report.

The feature became available to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise subscribers starting Wednesday, and will be rolled out to Free and Go users the following day. Unlike some other updates limited to U.S. users only, Intelligent UI is being released globally.

"We've trained GPT-6 to organize responses using text, visual elements, and interactive elements, and to choose how to combine them based on your question," said OpenAI, which is backed by Microsoft (MSFT.US), in a blog post on Wednesday. "With Intelligent UI, replies can include graphics, clickable buttons, forms, charts, and interactive experiences that can be used directly within the conversation."

OpenAI added: "How a response is presented depends on your specific question. Comparison-type questions may be best suited to side-by-side displays. Explanatory content may be easier to understand through interactive charts. When a plain text answer is most appropriate, ChatGPT will also provide you with a concise text response."

Intelligent UI is powered by a native, streamable component library and is equipped with a compiler that processes interface elements while the model generates content.

OpenAI stated: "There is still work to do in improving the model's design judgment and expanding what it can create, but Intelligent UI marks a major shift in how people interact with ChatGPT."
