MCC (01618) has announced a proposal to seek shareholder authorization for the repurchase of a portion of its H-shares. This initiative is prompted by the imminent expiration of the company's existing H-share repurchase mandate. The move is intended to consistently safeguard shareholder interests, effectively strengthen investor confidence, and further stabilize and enhance the company's market value. Under the proposed H-share repurchase authorization, the total number of H-shares repurchased by the company using its own funds during the relevant period must not exceed 10% of the total issued H-shares on the date the resolution is approved at the shareholders' meeting. The total amount allocated for this H-share repurchase program will not exceed RMB 500 million. All H-shares repurchased pursuant to this authorization will be canceled, leading to a reduction in the company's registered capital.
