On Aug, 12 2026, Phillip Securities Pte Ltd announced it has established an unsponsored Singapore depository receipts (SDR) programme that will enable investors to trade receipts representing shares of companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (SEHK).

Under the initiative, Phillip Securities Pte Ltd will act as depository, while Phillip Securities (Hong Kong) Limited has been appointed as the initial custodian. The Central Depository (Pte) Limited will be the registered holder of the master SDRs.

The company plans to seek quotation of the SDRs on Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (SGX-ST). Approval is subject to SGX-ST’s assessment that the depository, the underlying companies and their SEHK-listed shares meet the bourse’s eligibility criteria.

The SDRs will be traded solely on SGX-ST in Singapore dollars, giving local investors indirect exposure to Hong Kong equities without interacting directly with SEHK or overseas brokers. Investors will not receive voting rights on the underlying shares and must bear currency-exchange, market and regulatory risks.
