China Literature has released its performance report for the first half of 2026 in the short-form drama sector.
Official data reveals that the company produced numerous high-quality short dramas during this period, with the proportion of breakout hits achieving over fifty million in popularity being three times higher than the market average.
In terms of genre strategy, the company achieved balanced development across both male and female audience segments.
In the male-oriented category, the series "The Invisible Bodyguard" consistently led in terms of online popularity and viewership data, achieving a platform popularity score exceeding 100 million and surpassing 5 billion total views across all networks. This made it the first male-oriented short drama in the industry to achieve both these milestones.
In the female-oriented category, China Literature focused on adapting existing intellectual properties and incubating original IPs. The original IP series "Sweet Wife" has generated cumulative profits exceeding 50 million yuan, establishing a new commercial benchmark for original short drama IPs in the industry.
Analyst reports predict the short-form drama industry will continue to evolve towards higher quality and AI-driven industrialization.
Changjiang Securities analysts noted that the accelerating integration of AI into content production will continue to enhance China Literature's efficiency in mass-producing premium content and support its further growth.
