Senior Living Corp.'s stock plummeted 9.46% during intraday trading on Monday, following the release of its first-quarter 2026 financial results.
The senior housing operator reported a quarterly loss of $2.39 per share, which missed analyst consensus estimates significantly. The net loss attributable to shareholders widened to $41.2 million, compared to a $12.5 million loss in the same period last year. The company attributed the increased loss primarily to a $25.5 million rise in transaction, transition and restructuring costs connected to its recent $1.8 billion acquisition of CNL Healthcare Properties, Inc.
While the company reported a 36.7% increase in resident revenue and noted operational improvements in same-store occupancy, the substantial earnings miss and net loss expansion drove negative investor sentiment during the trading session.
