Prudential trims share count after latest buyback and cancellation

Prudential plc announced that it cancelled 423,938 ordinary shares repurchased on Mar, 11 2026, bringing its issued share capital down to 2,532,160,059 shares as of Mar, 13 2026.

On Mar, 13 2026, the insurer bought back a further 368,389 ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange for an aggregate GBP 3.97 million, or roughly 6.7 million Singapore dollars, paying between GBP 10.655 and GBP 10.885 per share. These shares are earmarked for cancellation.

Including a separate purchase of 364,010 shares on Mar, 12 2026, Prudential has 732,399 repurchased shares awaiting cancellation.

The buybacks are being executed under a mandate approved on May, 14 2025 that authorises repurchases of up to 262.7 million shares; to date, 75.0 million shares have been bought back, equal to about 2.88 % of the share count on the mandate date. Under market rules, Prudential is restricted from issuing new shares or disposing of any treasury shares until Apr, 12 2026.
