The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence-focused companies like OpenAI and Anthropic has generated a wave of new millionaires and billionaires. These individuals are now beginning to spend heavily, with top-tier collectible assets being their primary focus.

According to UBS data, the global number of billionaires increased by 13% year-over-year to 3,302 in the 12 months ending April, with over 1,000 of them residing in the United States. Real estate remains the first collectible asset purchase for this group. Home prices in San Francisco have surged significantly, with data from real estate firm Compass showing the median price for a single-family home jumped to $2.1 million in June, a nearly 25% increase from the same period last year.

After acquiring property, these newly wealthy individuals, propelled by the AI boom, are now spending heavily on highly customized, high-performance yachts, private jets, and luxury cars. They no longer favour the traditional luxury travel staples of champagne and dedicated butler service. Instead, they seek practicality, strong privacy, and products that can adapt to their health-conscious lifestyles. They are unwilling to endure long waits and are open to using cryptocurrency for payments.

Paul Charles, a luxury travel advisor, stated: "The rise of the new AI elite has created a fresh wave of demand for service providers in the private jet, yacht, and supercar sectors. The old concept of a discerning client is now quite outdated. Companies must now adjust to cater to this new generation of high-end consumers created by AI wealth." Businesses offering these high-end assets now need to quickly understand the very specific consumption demands of this new wealthy demographic.
