S&P Global shares dropped 5.57% in pre-market trading, as the company's full-year earnings outlook disappointed investors despite a stronger-than-expected second quarter.
The company reported Q2 adjusted EPS of $4.83, beating the consensus estimate of $4.76, and revenue of $4.146 billion, also above expectations. However, S&P Global issued full-year adjusted EPS guidance of $17.50 to $17.75, significantly below the analyst consensus of $18.30, triggering the sell-off.
The weaker profit forecast overshadowed the quarterly beat, highlighting concerns about the company's growth trajectory for the remainder of the year.
