Stock Track | IDP Education Plummets 5.13% Intraday After Losing Top-Pick Status on Global Uncertainty, Weak Visa Data

IDP Education Ltd's stock plummeted 5.13% intraday on Tuesday, reflecting investor concerns over the company's outlook.

The decline follows UBS removing IDP Education from its list of top picks, citing a materially worse operating environment in recent months. The investment bank highlighted uncertainty over policy, the geopolitical backdrop, and global inflation, along with weak student visa data in key markets like Australia, Canada, and the U.K. Additionally, the Middle East conflict and rising cost of living in key markets are pressuring demand for student placement services.

UBS maintained a buy rating but cut its target price by 36% to A$5.15, acknowledging that some investors will remain cautious despite the stock's recent steep fall leading to an undemanding valuation.
