Centurion's stock soared 3.42% in post-market trading on Monday, following the release of its 2025 annual report and details of a planned dividend distribution to shareholders.
The company's annual report highlighted a successful strategic shift toward an asset-light model following the listing of its Centurion Accommodation REIT (CAREIT) on the Singapore Exchange. This move strengthened the balance sheet significantly, with net gearing falling to 12% from 29% previously, providing capital for future acquisitions and development.
Additionally, Centurion announced plans for a dividend in specie that would distribute CAREIT units to shareholders, giving them direct exposure to the REIT's distributions without cash outlay. The company also revealed expansion of its Malaysia worker-accommodation footprint and the launch of a premium student-housing brand in Australia, positioning itself for growth in the purpose-built living accommodation sector.
