An on-site inspection has effectively aligned with the specific development needs of Hanchuan's characteristic industries, providing a comprehensive understanding of the progress in establishing the city's rapid protection center and the actual state of intellectual property development among key enterprises, according to a principal official from the Hanchuan Market Supervision Administration on July 8.
It was reported that on July 7, a delegation led by Chen Yi, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Hubei Provincial Intellectual Property Office, visited Hanchuan City to investigate the city's efforts in establishing a national-level rapid intellectual property protection center focused on its two advantageous sectors: textiles, garments, and children's vehicles. The delegation included Xia Jun, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Xiaogan Market Supervision Administration; Zhou Yan, Vice Mayor of Hanchuan City; and Ma Zhiyong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Hanchuan Market Supervision Administration.
At the sixth floor of the office building in Hanchuan Economic and Technological Development Zone's Sitai Industrial Park, the delegation inspected the proposed office space for the rapid protection center. They received reports on the overall development of Hanchuan's textile, garment, and children's vehicle industries, the status of patent applications and approvals, as well as the center's organizational structure, staff recruitment plans, and overall site development planning. The team inquired in detail about the preparatory measures taken during the recent phase of establishing the center, particularly regarding policy communication and enterprise services.
The delegation emphasized that a national-level rapid intellectual property protection center serves as a crucial platform for serving regional characteristic industries, optimizing the business environment, and stimulating innovation. They stressed the need to base the center's work on Hanchuan's two major advantageous industries—textiles and garments, and children's vehicles—and to advance the standardization of the site with high standards. This includes improving supporting hardware and software facilities, establishing a comprehensive, full-chain intellectual property protection service mechanism, and creating a closed loop for the creation, protection, utilization, and service of intellectual property. The goal is to effectively build the rapid protection center into a "forward position" that empowers the development of industrial clusters.
During visits to Hubei Yalida Garment Co., Ltd. and Hubei Yangtian Plastic Products Co., Ltd., the delegation toured the production workshops and product exhibition halls, gaining a detailed understanding of the companies' production operations, product research and development, design innovation, patent portfolios, and brand-building efforts. They specifically inquired about practical challenges and needs faced by the enterprises in areas such as design innovation for garments and children's vehicles, applications for design patents, infringement protection, and the transformation of research outcomes.
Addressing industry pain points common to the textile, garment, and children's vehicle sectors—such as rapid product iteration, frequent infringement disputes, and lengthy protection cycles—the delegation provided on-site answers and clarifications. They promoted relevant intellectual property support policies and key points for protecting design patents, guiding companies to strengthen their awareness of protecting original designs, proactively secure core intellectual property rights, safeguard their innovation achievements, and leverage intellectual property to enhance industrial quality, efficiency, and transformation.
Moving forward, Hanchuan City will use this inspection as an opportunity to strictly implement the guidance from the provincial intellectual property office. The city aims to accelerate and enhance the quality of establishing the national-level rapid intellectual property protection center for textiles, garments, and children's vehicles. Efforts will continue to improve the rapid collaborative intellectual property protection service system, with regular, in-depth visits to enterprises for targeted assistance.
