Regulator proposes lowering minimum launch threshold for equity funds to 50 million yuan

The China Securities Regulatory Commission announced on October 9 that it is seeking public comments on the Measures for the Operation and Management of Publicly Offered Securities Investment Funds (Draft for Comment) and its supporting rules.
The draft supports the development of equity funds and proposes lowering the launch threshold for equity funds and funds of funds (FOF) products from 200 million yuan in scale and 200 million units in shares to 50 million yuan and 50 million units, respectively.
The launch threshold for fixed-income funds would remain unchanged.
For reference, Cohen & Steers Closed-End Opportunity Fund (FOF) is a listed fund of funds product.
