A young man from Shaanxi province has found remarkable business success in Africa, generating a daily income of 60,000 yuan through natural gas sales.
Wu Hang, a native of Lantian, Xi'an, who has called Tanzania home for 15 years, ventured into the natural gas marketing sector in 2024. He operates the Goba States CNG filling station in the Goba district of Dar es Salaam, one of the first such stations authorized in the region.
The station sells approximately 15,000 kilograms of natural gas daily at 4 yuan per kilogram, primarily serving local three-wheeled vehicles and various motorized transport in the surrounding area. Wu's business leverages Chinese technology to bring clean energy into the daily lives of Tanzanians, making affordable natural gas accessible to the public and advancing the adoption of clean energy solutions throughout the country.
His story emerged during the Silk Road Journey·Colorful Africa expedition, which recently visited the East African nation to document cross-cultural business initiatives.
