On the evening of August 20, during the 2026 World Robot Conference (WRC 2026), Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center Co., Ltd. officially unveiled its next-generation embodied unified model, marking a strategic shift in its technical approach from a "modular" framework to an "end-to-end" architecture. Alongside this, the company launched its latest embodied brain model, Pelican-VL 2.0.
Building on its existing strengths in spatiotemporal understanding and physical perception, Pelican-VL 2.0 leverages robust post-training infrastructure and reinforcement learning to significantly enhance its Agentic capabilities. The model shows marked improvements in key embodied functions such as long-horizon task execution and tool invocation, addressing critical requirements for real-world deployment. Pelican-VL 2.0 is now open to the public for comprehensive services, having achieved both deployment and commercialization of coordinated embodied brain and cerebellum functions.
In addition to the product launch, the company held a partner signing ceremony during the forum, securing collaborations with partners from six countries and regions, including China, Germany, South Korea, Japan, and Spain. These partnerships span industries such as intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence infrastructure, quantum computing, digital twins, and big data.
Notably, on the front of industry standards, Xiong Youjun, CEO of Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, revealed to media that a dedicated committee and working groups have been established to develop more comprehensive standards. "Our innovation center is currently leading a standards group, particularly focusing on safety and interface standards, with the aim of minimizing redundant development efforts," Xiong stated. He noted the accelerated pace of standard-setting, saying, "There are already 49 standards in progress, with some initiatives being advanced toward the international level."
