Acadia Healthcare Company's stock plummeted 10.12% in after-hours trading following the release of its first-quarter 2026 results.

The behavioral healthcare provider reported quarterly earnings and revenue that beat analyst expectations. However, the company's guidance for the current quarter and full year fell short of estimates, sparking the sell-off. For the second quarter, Acadia sees adjusted EPS in the range of $0.30 to $0.40, below the IBES estimate of $0.48. For the full fiscal year 2026, the company expects adjusted EPS between $1.35 and $1.60, compared to the analyst consensus of $1.49.

Despite the strong Q1 performance, where adjusted EPS of $0.37 surpassed the $0.27 estimate and revenue of $828.8 million exceeded expectations, investors focused on the softer outlook for future profitability.
