Jiangsu Expressway (JIANGSU EXPRESS) published its third Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report, detailing 2025 operating, environmental and social metrics.
Financial highlights • Operating revenue reached RMB 20.29 billion, while net profit attributable to shareholders was RMB 4.59 billion. • Total assets stood at RMB 96.39 billion; net assets attributable to shareholders amounted to RMB 41.44 billion. • Information disclosure was rated “A” by the Shanghai Stock Exchange for a sixth consecutive year.
Governance and compliance • The board-level Strategic Committee now oversees ESG strategy; an ESG Management Manual and a three-tier governance framework have been introduced. • Independent directors account for 41.67 % of the 12-member board. • No cases related to corruption, bribery or unfair competition were reported in 2025.
Environmental performance • Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse-gas emissions totalled 64,277.14 tons, down 7.44 % year on year; carbon-emission intensity fell 8.03 % to 75.62 tons per lane-kilometre. • Comprehensive energy consumption rose 30.36 % to 15,255.98 tons of standard coal equivalent, reflecting expanded operations, including the Ningyang Yangtze River Bridge. • Xianrenshan Service Area became China’s first certified “zero-carbon” expressway service area, integrating a 5.6 MW wind project, a 2.8 MW solar array and battery storage, with an annual carbon-reduction capacity of over 2,750 tons. • Company targets include annual carbon-emission and intensity cuts of 20 % through 2030 and a 2 % annual decline in direct energy consumption per lane-kilometre from 2026 onward.
Social indicators • Workforce totalled 4,463, with a 100 % labour-contract signing rate and social-insurance coverage. • Training coverage reached 100 %, averaging 23 hours per employee; training expenditure was RMB 11.61 million. • Employee satisfaction scored 87.35 (up from 86.23 in 2024). • Volunteer service hours totalled 25,500, and RMB 1.05 million was allocated to community initiatives, including RMB 0.50 million for rural revitalisation in Ganyu District.
Operational efficiency • Average hindrance-clearance time improved 27.41 % year on year to 18.03 minutes; 20-minute arrival rate climbed to 98.95 %. • A drone-based “3-minute intervention circle” now covers key road sections, while smart-tunnel and intelligent-capacity-expansion systems won the China Highway & Transportation Society’s Science and Technology Grand Prize.
Outlook The report identifies six priorities for 2026, including increased capital investment, digital operation upgrades, low-carbon infrastructure expansion and enhanced service-area business models, aligned with Jiangsu’s “Eight Major Actions” transport strategy.
