Prudential plc announced that it bought back 296,421 ordinary shares on Aug, 6 2026 through the London Stock Exchange, paying between GBP 10.215 and GBP 10.445 per share. The total consideration was approximately GBP 3.06 million, and all the repurchased shares will be cancelled.
Following a separate cancellation of 274,080 shares on the same date, the company’s outstanding share capital was reduced to 2,503,081,565 shares, representing a 0.0109% decrease from the previous day.
Prudential still holds 1,964,633 shares that were repurchased on Aug, 5–6 2026 and are awaiting cancellation. Since receiving its buyback mandate on May, 14 2025, the insurer has repurchased 111,056,297 shares, equal to about 4.26% of its outstanding shares at that time. The mandate permits the company to repurchase up to 262,668,701 shares.
Under exchange regulations, Prudential is subject to a moratorium on issuing new shares or selling treasury shares until Sep, 05 2026.
