Japan's GPIF Allocates 20 Billion Yen to Domestic Private Equity Fund in Landmark Direct Investment

Japan's Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) has announced a 20 billion yen investment into a private equity fund that will focus on domestic projects, marking the fund's first direct investment of this kind managed internally.

Previously, the GPIF's investments in Japan-focused private equity were made through external fund-of-funds structures.
