Relocating to the industrial park has not only provided greater space for expansion but also unlocked new opportunities through a shared model, with projected annual output value exceeding 20 million yuan. Standing in his 4,300-square-meter independent factory, Chen Peng, the head of Danyi Machinery Co., Ltd., spoke with a calm confidence that was unimaginable two years ago. At that time, the company, which manufactures automotive chassis parts, moved from Zhejiang to Daming County, sharing a cramped 2,000-square-meter facility with three other businesses. Space constraints limited production capacity, forcing them to forgo new equipment and turn away potential orders. Little did Chen Peng know that the turning point would come from a long-dormant old factory area.
Since last year, Daming County has systematically revitalized and transformed an old industrial site, giving birth to a shared industrial park focused on auto parts. In May this year, the first phase was officially delivered, featuring 16 standardized factories with a total floor area exceeding 100,000 square meters. Today, including Danyi Machinery Co., Ltd., 12 auto parts manufacturers have moved in and commenced operations, covering key areas such as chassis systems, braking systems, transmission systems, fasteners, and precision structural components. An industrial practice centered on "sharing" is quietly taking shape here.
The auto parts sector is a core component of Daming County's electrical machinery and equipment industrial cluster, comprising 44 related enterprises. Despite a solid industrial foundation, these companies commonly face challenges: high upfront investment, steep operational costs, and weak bargaining power when operating alone. The Daming Auto Parts Shared Industrial Park was built to address these issues. Park director Wang Xiaotong has a clear vision: "Gather the county's auto parts manufacturers, leverage scale and agglomeration effects, and use a shared model to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance industry competitiveness and brand influence." This statement captures the park's core logic—it's not just about moving businesses into new factories, but about building a sharing system that allows enterprises to "move in with just their bags and grow with light assets."
The heart of this system lies in five shared centers. The Shared Procurement Center targets the toughest purchasing challenge for small and micro enterprises: raw materials like steel, aluminum, plastic, rubber seals, and fasteners. A single small factory negotiating prices has little leverage. Through the park's unified, large-scale procurement platform, companies can access bulk purchasing prices, enjoy consolidated transport and delivery, and benefit from raw material quality traceability. Flexible purchasing options include routine, emergency, and customized procurement, and even nearby businesses facing shortages can get supplies here.
The Shared Forging Center eliminates the heavy investment needed for self-built production lines. In auto parts manufacturing, casting, forging, and galvanizing are common processes, each requiring costly equipment and specialized maintenance. The center offers a full-process service—"blank forming, strength enhancement, and anti-corrosion protection"—allowing companies to choose single steps or combinations like "casting plus forging" or "casting plus galvanizing," or even a complete closed-loop service. Needs like braking components, steering parts, suspension structural parts, and outdoor corrosion-resistant parts can be met without leaving the park.
The Shared Leasing and Maintenance Center provides another light-asset path. General equipment like cranes, forklifts, and precision measuring instruments are available for rent, as are specialized items like machine tools and testing tools, supporting short-term, long-term, or temporary use. Companies avoid large capital outlays for seldom-used equipment, with backup options available during breakdowns, and maintenance services covering daily care, periodic upkeep, repairs, and precision calibration.
The Shared Inspection and Testing Center establishes a one-stop detection system of "basic self-inspection plus complex outsourcing." Companies handle basic tasks like visual checks and conventional size measurements, while complex tests such as mechanical property analysis, chemical composition detection, ultrasonic flaw detection, and X-ray inspection are outsourced through the center, with digital traceability for test reports. The Shared Consumables Center integrates supplies of safety gear, industrial consumables, and general accessories, offering storage management, on-demand delivery, 24-hour emergency supply, and inventory optimization advice to minimize consumable stock levels.
If the five shared centers address "production" issues, the Daming Auto Parts Shared Industrial Park's supporting service system tackles the hidden costs of "operations." The park features an Enterprise Service Center providing a one-stop suite of services: government affairs assistance, financial matching, talent recruitment and training, intellectual property, and legal support. This means a startup doesn't need to allocate staff to handle various procedures and resources; many tasks can be completed through the center. On the digital front, an Industrial Enterprise Operation Monitoring Center has been set up. It tracks real-time regional industrial economic indicators—such as output value, revenue, electricity consumption, and employment—with dynamic updates, industry contribution analysis, and trend warnings. This provides data for both business decision-making and government policy formulation. Additionally, the park is equipped with six shared industrial product livestreaming rooms. Companies can book them for free, with the park also offering live-streaming operations, host training, and production-sales matchmaking services. For manufacturers accustomed to traditional channels, this offers a low-cost window to new markets.
The story of the Daming Auto Parts Shared Industrial Park also highlights a noteworthy aspect: it is a product of revitalizing existing assets. Formed through systematic renovation and upgrade of an old factory area, the park is positioned as an "industrial innovation accelerator," divided into three functional zones: intelligent manufacturing, industrial support, and living services. It also houses exhibition halls for the electrical machinery equipment cluster and the auto parts industry. The once-dormant industrial space has been infused with fresh industrial content. This is both a practical choice for intensive land use and aligns with the current trend of shifting from incremental expansion to optimizing existing assets. Wang Xiaotong stated that the next step is to persist in the direction of "shared manufacturing, digital and intelligent empowerment, and industrial chain collaboration," continuously optimizing enterprise services, promoting technological transformation, improving the industrial chain, and enhancing the industrial level to drive park enterprises' quality improvement and expansion.
