Bank of Qingdao Co., Ltd. (BQD) announced that its fourth meeting of the sixth session of the employee representative congress, held on 16 June 2026, elected Liu Xiaoshu as an employee director to the ninth board. His appointment remains subject to approval by the Qingdao Bureau of the National Financial Regulatory Administration; the term will run from the date of regulatory confirmation to the expiry of the current board’s tenure.
Liu Xiaoshu, born in March 1975, holds doctorates in Science from Tsinghua University and in Economics from Xiamen University and is classified as a senior economist. Since joining BQD in August 2011, he has served as chief economist, director of the General Office (Party Committee Office, Publicity Department), and general manager of the Strategy Department. Earlier roles included business manager in the Investment and Custody Department of China Everbright Bank and a post-doctoral fellowship at China Merchants Bank.
Remuneration will follow BQD’s Administrative Measures on Remuneration of Employees, comprising basic salary, performance-based pay and welfare income. No additional director’s allowance will be provided for the employee-director role.
The announcement confirms Liu holds no other listed directorships over the past three years, maintains no relationships with existing directors, senior management or substantial shareholders, and owns no shares in BQD under Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Ordinance.
As of 16 June 2026, BQD’s board consists of four executive directors, five non-executive directors and five independent non-executive directors, chaired by Jing Zailun.
