Franklin Templeton Discloses Quarterly Distribution Plans for Its Closed-End Funds

Franklin Templeton announced on Tuesday that several of its closed-end funds have established their monthly distribution schedules for July, August, and September 2026, in accordance with their managed distribution policies.

According to the announcement, the Franklin Universal Trust fund will maintain its distribution at $0.0425 per share monthly. The corresponding record, ex-dividend, and payable dates are set for July 24th, August 24th, and September 23rd, respectively.

These distribution plans are based on each fund's managed distribution policy, which aims to provide shareholders with a consistent level of distributions from the fund's investment income and capital gains. If the monthly distributable income is insufficient, a fund may utilize distributions from long-term capital gains or a return of capital to maintain its stated managed distribution rate. The fund's board of trustees retains the authority to amend, terminate, or suspend this policy at any time.

Franklin Templeton also released the distribution details for several other funds. The Franklin Limited Duration Income Trust will maintain its monthly distribution at $0.0615 per share. Meanwhile, the Templeton Emerging Markets Income Fund will increase its monthly distribution from $0.0475 per share to $0.0540 per share, effective July.

The company cautioned shareholders that they should not draw any conclusions about a fund's investment performance from the distribution amount or the terms of the managed distribution policy. Each fund will send a Form 1099-DIV to shareholders after the close of the calendar year for federal income tax reporting purposes.
