Prudential plc announced that it cancelled 449,197 ordinary shares on Apr, 29 2026, following their repurchase on Apr, 27 2026. After the cancellation, the company’s issued share capital (excluding treasury shares) stood at 2,521,670,925 shares.
On the same day, Prudential repurchased a further 635,107 shares on the London Stock Exchange at prices ranging from GBP 10.96 to GBP 11.175 per share, for an aggregate consideration of approximately GBP 7.02 million. All of these shares are intended for cancellation.
As at the Apr, 29 2026 close, a total of 1,063,705 repurchased shares (including 428,598 bought on Apr, 28 2026 and 635,107 bought on Apr, 29 2026) were pending cancellation. Under its shareholder-approved mandate dated May, 14 2025, Prudential is authorised to repurchase up to 262,668,701 shares, of which 85,838,551 had been bought back to date, representing about 3.30 per cent of the company’s issued shares at the time of the mandate.
The company noted that no shares are held in treasury and that it is subject to a 30-day moratorium on issuing new shares following the latest repurchase, lasting until May, 29 2026.
