Stock Track | Valuetronics Soars 3.51% Intraday on EQDP Institutional Buying and Margin Expansion

Valuetronics Holdings' stock soared 3.51% during intraday trading on Thursday, reflecting strong investor interest in the electronics manufacturing services provider.

The surge appears linked to a detailed report highlighting the company as a beneficiary of Singapore's Equity Market Development Programme (EQDP). According to the report, EQDP-appointed fund managers, including Amova Asset Management, have been actively building positions in Valuetronics. Amova's deemed interest in the company reportedly rose to 6.11% by late April, signaling sustained institutional accumulation rather than a one-off trade.

Fundamental business improvements are also underpinning the positive sentiment. The company demonstrated resilience in its first-half fiscal 2026 results, achieving a net profit increase of 2.7% year-on-year despite a slight revenue dip. This was driven by a significant gross margin expansion from 16.8% to 18.8%, as the higher-margin Industrial and Commercial Electronics segment grew. Management expects to complete the phase-out of lower-margin legacy consumer products by the end of the financial year, and its Vietnam facility is seen as strategically well-positioned to serve North American customers amid global trade uncertainties.
