Jiangxi Copper Company Limited announced that Chairman and Executive Director Zheng Gaoqing resigned on 7 July 2026 after reaching the statutory retirement age. His departure also covers his roles as Chairman of the Board’s Nomination Committee and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Development Committee. The original term of office for the 10th Board session was scheduled to expire later, but Zheng’s resignation became effective upon the Board’s receipt of his written notice.
The company stated that the resignation will not lower the number of directors below the statutory minimum, and routine operations remain unaffected. A by-election to fill the vacated board seat will be arranged in accordance with the Company Law of the People’s Republic of China and Jiangxi Copper’s Articles of Association.
Zheng confirmed he has no disagreement with the Board, no outstanding public commitments, and will not retain any position within Jiangxi Copper or its subsidiaries. The Board acknowledged his contributions in steering innovation-driven growth, expanding domestic and overseas mineral resources, and enhancing integration along the copper industry chain.
As of the announcement date, Jiangxi Copper’s Board comprises four executive directors (Zhou Shaobing, Gao Jian-min, Liang Qing, and Yu Minxin), one employee director (Miao Shenggang), and four independent non-executive directors (Wang Feng, Lai Dan, Liu Shuying, and Liu Zhihong). Deputy Chairman Zhou Shaobing signed the announcement on behalf of the Board.
